Grand Opening: Shark Tank’s Buena Papa Fry Bar to Open in Wynwood

Miami, FL – Buena Papa Fry Bar, the award-winning restaurant known for its Latin-inspired meals served on hand-cut, made-to-order gourmet French fries, is announcing the opening of its first franchise location inside of The Dirty Rabbit bar in Wynwood Miami. The grand opening celebration is scheduled for Friday, December 8 marking a significant milestone for the fast-growing restaurant. This expansion comes on the heels of Buena Papa's deal with Shark Tank investor Robert Herjavec to fuel their nationwide franchising.
The grand opening celebration, scheduled from 3 pm to 7 pm on Friday, December 8, promises an exciting array of promotional specials:
From 3 pm to 5 pm, the first 10 customers in line will receive free fries for an entire year.
First responders—including police, fire, and paramedic personnel—will be treated to a FREE meal.
Additionally, complimentary face painting will add a playful touch to the festivities.
From 5 pm to 7 pm, patrons can immerse themselves in the rhythm of live music, witness live art performances, participate in a french fry eating contest, and stand a chance to win big with a raffle for an all-expenses-paid vacation to Colombia.
At the Miami restaurant, customers will get a first look at a new mural from Luis Valle–a Nicaraguan artist known for his murals and street art throughout South Florida. Buena Papa will also be launching 3 new signature dishes, including El Cubano, El Japones, and El Miami. These dishes will be an addition to the diverse meals inspired from Colombia, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Italy, Greece, and the U.S.

The Miami location will be open Sunday through Wednesday 5pm to 1am and Thursday through Saturday 5pm - 4am to reflect the vibrant nightlife of the Wynwood neighborhood.
Background
Buena Papa opened their first location in Raleigh, NC in 2021 and quickly became a local favorite. They went on to open locations in Durham, NC and the PNC Aren in under two years and were named the “official loaded fry” of the NHL team The Carolina Hurricanes. In January 2023 they announced a nation-wide franchising program and have since signed nine new locations.
